Jessica has been a one-woman cheerleader for Congress to follow Section 3 of the14th amendment of the Constitution. She believes deeply in the threat to democracy that inaugurating the president-elect into office holds not only for our country, but also for the world. My last article presented a dystopian view of what could happen as a result of a symbolic marriage between him and Putin. Jessica hasn't been describing a scenario like the one I wrote, but rather describes his vindictive, narcissistic, money and power-grabbing personality, the lows of what he is capable of and where his leadership (or lack) could lead us.
Ms. Denson had been calling on Congress to obey the Constitution and not confirm him into office on January 6, 2025. Her belief is so strong that she organized a group of people to protest in Washington, DC over the freezing weekend before the confirmation. The small but hardy group included constitutional lawyers and other spokespeople with authority to speak on the validity of not transferring power to an insurrectionist. Jessica deserves applause and commendation from anyone who feels gaslighted by the complacency of the democratic party, the media and the Supreme Court regarding his constitutional privilege to hold office. Not one Senator declined to certify.
Jessica worked in the first Trump administration. She left in disgust when the low points to which her President would stoop became indisputable. Soon after, she began a lawsuit regarding the non-disclosure agreement she faced upon leaving. She won.
Lights On, her YouTube channel began with beseeching the democrats to request a recount of a few swing states for proof that the election had not been tampered with. When that possibility ended, she pressed for Congress to uphold the constitution and not confirm the president-elect based on Section 3 of the 14th amendment.
Threats have been made by his supporters. Jessica will, in all probability, face a vendetta from the president, against whom she won a lawsuit, as well as lobbying heavily against his confirmation. She will be attacked, harassed and attempts to sue and imprison her for treason may be made (oh the irony). Her previous teammates on the Meidas Touch Network do not seem to have her back. I watched a YouTube host from that network attempt to tear apart her credible arguments with a former Justice Department Attorney. The attorney seemed perplexed as to why a democratic spokesperson would be against the rationale FOR opposing the certification of the president-elect. The attorney believed the arguments for not confirming him had merit, though he agreed they would not likely lead to doing the right thing. Ms. Denson left the Midas Touch Network because the program did not want her to continue speaking to and advocating for the Section 3 disqualification.
Jessica will need support from many people and avenues for having the courage to stand up when all of America was so ready to acquiesce. Please check out her YouTube channel, Lights ON and subscribe, it’s free
